USS FORRESTAL...Arriving! Timeless Military Coins is proud to announce the newest addition to our historic U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers Collection: USS FORRESTAL (CV/CVA/AVT-59).
This commemorative challenge coin is designed to reflect the historic aspects of this mighty ship. The obverse/front depicts FORRESTAL with her command emblem, two aircraft of her embarked air wing, dates of service, all designations and her place in history as THE WORLD'S FIRST SUPER CARRIER.
On the reverse is a dynamic image of FID sailing into the Mediterranean Sea past the Rock of Gibraltar, her nickname and motto, FID - First in Defense, and her two homeports of Naval Station Norfolk and Naval Station Mayport.
This is currently a limited edition of 100 serialized/numbered coins (001-100).
