U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command Orlando, FL (RTC Orlando) was located on board Naval Training Center, Orlando. It was the newest of the Navy's three "boot camps," the other two being RTC San Diego and RTC Great Lakes.

The obverse/front side of our round RTC Orlando commemorative coin depicts a detailed and official RTC Orlando emblem in full color along with the dates it was in operation (1968-1995).

The reverse/back side is truly unique and depicts eight images associated with the US Navy's only recruit training center for female sailors during that period: a male and female sailor, the landmark “Navy World” water tower, the barracks, chapel, the USS Bluejacket (aka USS Neversail), sailors marching, and the infamous “Grinder." Adorning the border of the coin is the phrase “The Adventure Began Here."
